If you think about it you're probably getting the vast majority of your political information from commercial, ad supported, enterprises already, whether it's TV, radio, print, or online.

But it's more than that. It sure isn't for the money (check out how much recovery.gov has been given), it's about maintaining a totally unbiased presentation, and remaining in control.

• Unbiased: If we asked for government funding then there's a real danger this site could become partisan in line with the majority party. Above all, we want this site to remain completely neutral, fairly presenting both sides of each argument without bias or filter. We firmly believe the American people will take the time to become educated on the issues if they're treated with respect. Perhaps we can raise the political discourse in our country to a higher level.
   
• Control: We have a host of ideas we'd like to implement for the future. Although a good case can be made for all of them, we don't want to have to clear every change and new function thru those holding the purse strings. A side benefit of this is that we can react quicker and implement new features much faster.
